A woman's dog, her long-time friend, passed away and she asked us to create a container for his ashes.
Local Red Maple, Black Walnut, and Hard Maple create a beautiful contrast and the hand-rubbed oil finish shows off the amazing color and grain patterns in the wood.
The lines and curves work together to provide a balance with the turned handle and finial off-setting the finger joints on the box corners. The cove profile on the edge of the lid helps lead the eye to the contrasting splines which strengthens the top.
