Black Walnut Heartwood Sapwood Bowl

This small Black Walnut Bowl features heartwood and sapwood.

Fun Fact - Heartwood is found inside the middle of the tree and is typically a different color than the sapwood on the outer side of the trunk. The heartwood is typically harder than the sapwood and provides the tree with support. The sapwood carries nutrients to the different parts of the tree.
