This Apple wood burl was a challenge to turn and turned out as a unique piece!
A burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It is commonly found in the form of a rounded outgrowth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds.
This was a challenging project. The wood was full of different densities throughout. I had to carefully turn this but the time and effort paid off!
